Escaping Daddy
On publication in 2009 – ‘Escaping Daddy’ also went into The Times Top Ten Bestsellers List.
‘Escaping Daddy’ continues the story of my life through many more trials and tribulations. It is a frustrating read at times for in the desperate search for love and security, I continue to find myself in dangerous and vulnerable situations. It would be a few more years before I finally find my happy ending. But find it I do and WOW! It was certainly worth waiting for.
My advice to anyone reading this who continues to struggle with the long term effects of childhood abuse is very straightforward. NEVER, I repeat NEVER give up on yourself. You are stronger than you know. When you think nobody cares, think again for I am thinking of you and praying for you. I can see past all the bad stuff, the hurt and the pain and straight into your heart. You too can transcend all those horrific experiences, reclaim your life and become the person you were meant to be. Don’t give up, we need you and we love you.

The sequel to Daddy’s Little Earner tells Maria’s story as she tries to rebuild her life. Determined to escape from her past and be the best wife and mother she could possibly be, Maria throws herself into her marriage. But it is never that easy to escape from such a traumatic start in life. Maria tells the story of her marriage into the gypsy community and the emotional demons that rise up from her childhood to haunt her as she becomes the victim of violence once more. She leads the reader through her own personal and inspiring journey out of a nervous breakdown, through two marriages and on to becoming a personal development teacher, helping many others to overcome their pasts, and a strong, empowered single mother of two boys.
Dear Maria,
You have inspired me so much with your book ‘escaping daddy”. My stepfather did things like that to me and inspired me to write my own little story after reading your book. I’m glad it all worked out in the end and you’ve come out as a stronger women.

It’s great there are marvelous, inspiring individuals like you, who shared your story to offer solace to others with a similar experience. Sadly, child sexual abuse isn’t talked about enough, and children of these cases stories are either ignored or denied by family members. Children, it seems have no one to turn to, because their family members silence them and protect their abusers. This happens a lot, and these cases aren’t isolated as one would think. It’s a global phenomenon. At this very minute, as I am typing, a child is being violated, and their plea for help goes unnoticed. My heart is with them.
