  • What I hope will be an interesting and informative blog.

I am still very proud of my achievements in writing my 2 books

‘Daddy’s Little Earner’ More Info HERE and

‘Escaping Daddy’ More Info HERE

I sincerely hope they will continue to be a source of inspiration and encouragement to many for many more years.  But the truth is, I no longer want my identity to be defined solely by my books. Yes I am an author and I love to write but part of my healing journey has been to realise that yes, that is part of my life and always will be but I can write about other stuff too!

Please remember I deeply value your support and appreciation, whether it be from reading my books or from any other source and I love to hear from you, so please feel free to make comments or get in touch.

Thank you for being you and for visiting my site.

Much Love Ria x

I am sitting still thinking of your book…how a father could do that AND how the authorities let you down. I googled your named and was so happy to see a beautiful, smiling woman! I had a stepfather who tried…I never told my mom for fear that she would blame me (I was 18). I left and never went back. How easily your story could have been mine. Luckily I was raised in the church until my father died. That and my gut instincts helped me navigate my life in the big city that I moved to. I can’t imagine how many other girls struggle. You are such a great role model! I hope that you continue your path of good fortune! You deserve a wonderful life after what you have been through.

Thank you for having the courage to share your story!

    • marialandon says:

    Hi Ria,
I am probably one of the few that have not read your books, Its not becuase I don’t want to it’s because I have wanted to get to know you as you the strong person that survived through the darkest of times. What I really admire about you is whenever I see you at quilting or when we meet up you could be having a difficult day with other things but you have always got a smile on your face and a kind word to say. Even the smallest amount of time spent in your company brightens up my day.

    Dear Maria,

Thank you so much for sharing your biography. The story was very touching for me to read. When reading it I felt personally my child hood coming back and I wondered why I complained about the trivialities in life. I wondered how someone could go through so much. What hurt me most is how we can be so busy and fail to recognise the suffering and pain of those around us. Another thing that hurt me was the failure of any christian at that time to minister to you the presence of a loving “Father” who knew your wows. Thanks once again for sharing because so much good and awareness will come out of your story. It is a constant reminder for us as christians to pray for our brethren who are living through various forms of abuse and hard situations and a prayer for evangelisation that all people may know about a loving saviour “Jesus” who can stand by us at all times. I pray for you to have more life and Health to write some more books praising him for your new “Identity”.

    God Bless You Maria.

    Best Regards,

  22. Benabella Namazzi says:

    Dear Maria,

Thank you so much for your books, I read recently “Daddy’s little earner”. Thank you so much for sharing your Biography. It made me go back to my child hood and regretted about complaining about the trivialities of life. I was so touched by the story. It was hard to imagine that a young girl would go through so much. It hurts me that so many things happen around us and we make ourselves so busy to recognize the needs of our brethren. Another thing that hurt me is that we live in a Christian World and share Xtian names and fail to evangelise to each other the greatness of the unseen Almighty “Father”. Personally, I feel my part in all this is that we as Christians keep quiet, fail to pray or in the least show the lonely and abused around us some love. Thanks once again for sharing your Biography. It is an eye opener and I hope it will help prevent the abuse of so many young children for generations ahead. I pray that God gives you Good Health and more years to write more books praising him for your “True Identity”.

    God Bless you Maria,

    Best Regards,

Thank you Berna for your kind words. I am so humbled by the emails and messages I get such as yours regarding my books. I never envisaged they would be so widely read around the world and be such an eye opener to so many people and healing to many others. God is truly amazing and I couldn’t have done it without him. The books were written before I became a Christian but its amazing how you can see His hand upon my life throughout. 🙂 Thanks again. God bless you love Ria xx

I really enjoyed your book. You came off as honest, insightful, and realistic. I greatly appreciate how you conveyed your feelings without coming across as a victim.

On a personal note I teach kindergarten at a low income public school just outside of Austin, Texas. Many students who come through my door have similar life experiences. Thank you for helping me to understand them just a bit more.

  24. Gemma Morgan says:

Your book .. your life was a very sad trail of let downs by people that should have loved .. cared and supported you family and social services … I cannot imagine how much you and your siblings suffered .. I can only say your story touched my heart ❤️ opened my eyes to the plyte of others never imagined what you all went through to be how parents could treat there children … my girls were abused by there stepfather.. and the system let them down too .. it’s hard for me as a mother .. grandma to find the ability to forgive such act on a child … you are a brace lady and do hope you continue to give positivity and hope to the many that need your words .. bless you

    • marialandon says:

Thank you for your kind words
It must be extremely hard for you to forgive and its something I too have struggled with for years. I sort of forgive my dad sometimes then get angry with him at others. I think its a process and we can only ever try our best. God bless you and your family xx

  27. Briannah says:

    Hi Maria,
Just finished your book in one day. Could not put it down. There is a lot that is very familiar with my past too. I applaud you for your bravery! I wish you all the best for the future and thank you for writing such a great book with a glimpse into your past. Xx

  28. Lynnette says:

    Dear Maria,

I found you by chance, today on Christian Radio. Now listening to your story, as I type. It struck a few chords and pricked memories of my own. I have sat many times wanting to write it all down, like”Flushing It All Away”, for want of a better description. I salute you and how its amazing you’ve done what many of us, are unsure and afraid of doing, getting it out there and helping others along the way. Thank you and God Bless You, Always

    • marialandon says:

Thank you for your kind words Lynette
I think that if you need to write it down that’s what you should do. It is indeed a very cathartic process and can be in any form you choose Poetry, prose, note form, essay, letters to abusers etc (But if you write letters remember not to post them)
      Much love Ria xx

Hello, just watched you on revelation. What you said about not working through things is like keeping a cancer, I’m worried that i won’t get enough counselling available in order to work through my childhood abuse… I also found your vision after trying to commit suicide very touching, it will stay with me forever as a reminder that it’s not the way to escape things xx Hope you are well x Chevion

    • marialandon says:

      Hi Chevion
Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad I have been able to help you think differently about suicide. Its is NEVER the answer. My point about not working through things is that we really must be able to talk things through until we don’t want to or just cant talk about it anymore. Prince Harry was talking today about how he shut away his emotions for 20 years until he went to counselling about losing his mother when he was 12 years old. But the truth is that it doesn’t have to be professional counselling. It can be a friend, family member, a help line (Samaritans are amazing) Just as long as we keep talking, that’s what matters. We were never meant to carry such feelings of guilt and shame so yes, just keep talking or writing and doing whatever it takes to heal. God bless you. Lots of love from Ria x

    Hi Ria,

Your book turned me into an emotional wreck. I was so gutted to read everything that happened to you in Daddies little earner. You were just unfortunate to be born into that family. I was destraught t read all that happened to you especially as vulnerable toddlers & children & also for your brothers. No children should suffer like that 😦 I am glad you survived everything & have turned your life around & as everyone faces hard times in life at some point or another, I hope you are equipped to deal with everything now & that any problems seem small after all you have been through. I wish you blessing, happiness, success & love. I am glad you have your 2 sons as well which can be counted in your blessings. Also delighted to know there are people like Mrs McQuarrie in the world. I wish her every blessing also. She deserves it & hope your brothers are doing well too xx

  31. Sakai says:

Hey Maria ! I don’t know how should address you though I’m quite younger than you. I’m 15 btw. I read your book . I brought it but I never read it . A day before yesterday I started reading ‘ Escaping daddy’ and I couldn’t stop crying at every problems you faced in your life and how bravely you fought against all those evils . Sometimes I feel worse to be born in this world where women are seen nothing more than a sex toy. There are rapes and other sexual abuses against womens . Sometimes I question myself why only women ? Are we this vulnerable ? But after reading your book I got inspired and knew it that we have to fight back even though whatever world throws at us . I would like to share my experience I was 10 and my uncle he started behaving weirdly with me . I was cringed at first . And soon one day he touched me over my breast . I didn’t know much at that time what he tried doing but I explained my mom that he touched me there and my parents protected me . I feel so proud of myself that I was able to rescue myself at such a tender age. I am happy that he had to stop before he would have went forward on doing something more to me. Well I am also a featured author on wattpad and I feel really proud of myself . Sorry I just want to let this out and your my FAVOURITE AUTHOR !!!! Lots of love . Wishing you a happy life ahead.

    Yours sincerely
